You can only follow the steps below on your main device (typically your smartphone).

When you delete your LINE account, all data, including your purchase history, friends, groups, chat history, and data registered to apps and services such as LINE Games, will be deleted. After your LINE account is deleted, it cannot be restored or transferred, and you cannot log in on your sub device.
If you want to delete your LINE account, first read the "Before deleting your LINE account" section. Afterwards, follow the steps in the "To delete your LINE account" section below.

Before deleting your LINE account:
If you have a LINE Pay account, you need to delete it before deleting your LINE account. For the steps on how to delete your LINE Pay account, see the following Help article.

Deleting your LINE Pay account

If you are subscribed to LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand), you need to cancel your LYP Premium/LINE Premium subscription in advance. Refer to the following Help article for details.

Canceling your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership

To delete your LINE account:

Only deleting or uninstalling the LINE app will not delete your account.
Please see the information below that matches your current situation.

If you're able to log in to the LINE account you want to delete:
You can delete your account on your own without needing to contact us.

To do so, follow the steps below using the device currently logged into the account.

1. Open LINE on the main device your LINE account is registered to.
2. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Account.
3. Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen > Next.
4. After reading and agreeing to the warnings, tap Delete account > Delete.

If you're unable to log in to your LINE account you want to delete:
Users in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand, or users in other regions with LINE accounts created before version 13.11.0 If you can provide the following two types of documents, we will be able to delete the LINE account for you.

Required Documents:
• A document verifying your identity

The name on the documents you provide must match the name on the contract for your phone number.

The documents must include:
- The contract holder's name.
- The current address of the contract holder.
- The name (or seal) of the issuer of the document.
- The validity of the document (it must have been issued within the last six months or still be valid).

Any unnecessary personal information on the documents must be covered or hidden. If unnecessary personal information is shown in an image you send us, we will not be able to accept it as an identification document.

• A document issued by your mobile service provider for the phone number that is registered to your LINE account

We need a document that shows you have a contract for the phone number registered to the LINE account you want to delete.

The documents must include:
- The name of the owner of the phone number (contract holder).
- The phone number.
- The name of the mobile service provider.
- The date (based on the contract status of your phone number).
Note: If the phone number is still under contract, the document must have been issued within the last three months, or show the cancellation date if the number has been canceled.

Examples of acceptable documents:
- A payment receipt (if the number is still under contract)
- Proof of cancellation (if the number was canceled)

• This document must contain all four of the necessary pieces of information mentioned above on the same page.
• Make sure to take a photo where the date (either the document issue date within the last three months or the phone number cancellation date) is clearly visible.
• Ask your mobile service provider for details regarding this document.

If you're unable to prepare the two types of documents mentioned above We will not be able to assist you further, as we cannot verify your identity.

If you're able to prepare the two types of documents mentioned above

• If the required documents are not attached, or if they are not attached correctly, we will not be able to delete your LINE account.
• If we don't receive all the necessary documents, we may ask you to submit them again.

When attaching the contract for the phone number registered to the LINE account you want to delete, ensure that the date indicating the contract status (either the document issue date within the last three months or the phone number cancellation date) is clearly visible, and contact us via this Inquiry Form.


Users outside Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand with LINE accounts created on version 13.11.0 or later We are unable to delete your LINE account even if you contact us when:
• You haven't registered an email address to the LINE account you want deleted.
• You don't know or can't use the email address registered to the LINE account you want deleted.
• You can't use the Apple ID or Google account you linked to your LINE account when you created it.

If any of the above apply to you, please ask your friends to block the account you want deleted.

We can delete your LINE account if you can confirm:
• The email address registered to your LINE account.
• The Apple ID or Google account you linked to your LINE account when you created it.
