About albums:
Items that can be uploaded:
• Photos: Anyone in the chat can upload photos to an album.
Note: Only LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) members can upload photos in original quality.
• Videos: Only LYP Premium (Japan) and LINE Premium (Thailand) members can upload videos to an album.
Note: Uploaded videos can also be viewed by all members, regardless of their LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) subscription status.
You can post up to:
• 100 albums per chat.
• 1,000 items per album, with up to 1,000 photos or a combination of items including up to 100 videos.
E.g. If you upload 950 photos, you can still upload up to 50 videos.
• 300 items per upload, with up to 300 photos or a combination of items including up to 20 videos.
E.g. If you want to upload 290 photos at once, you can also include up to 10 videos in the same upload.
There is a monthly upload limit per user, which resets as follows.
Photos: At 12:00 am (UTC+9) on the first of the following month.
Note: This limit was implemented on September 1, 2023 (UTC+9).
Videos: At 12:00 am (UTC+9) on the renewal date of your LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) membership.

Creating albums
Main device
1. Tap
at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of the screen.Note: If you're creating the first album in the chat, you can also tap Create album.
3. Select the items you want to add, then tap Next.
4. Enter an album name and tap Create.
To rename a created album, use either of the methods below:
• Tap
at the top of the chat > Albums > 
at the bottom right of the album > Rename album.• Tap the album >
at the top right of the screen > Rename album.Sub device

1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of the screen.Note: If you're creating the first album in the chat, you can also tap Create album.
3. Select the items you want to add, then tap Next.
4. Enter an album name and tap Create.

1. Click at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Click + Create album.
3. Enter a name for the album and click
.4. Select the items to add to the album and click Open.
5. Click Create.
To rename a created album, click
at the top of a chat > Albums > to the right of the album name > Rename album, then change the album name.
You can enter up to 50 characters for an album name.
Note:
- If you don't enter an album name, the name will be the date the album was created by default.
- The same album name cannot be used more than once in the same chat.
Adding items to albums
To add items directly to an album on your main or sub device, see the steps below.Note: Only LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) members can add videos and original-quality photos.
Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of an album > Add items, or tap the album you want to add items to > at the bottom right of the screen.3. Select the items you want to add, then tap Next > Add.
Note: To add original-quality photos, tap Original at the bottom left of the photo selection screen.
Sub device
iPad/Android
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of an album > Add items, or tap the album you want to add items to > at the bottom right of the screen.3. Select the items you want to add, then tap Next > Add.
Note: To add original-quality photos, tap Original at the bottom left of the photo selection screen.
Windows/Mac
1. Click at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Click
to the right of the album name > Add items.3. Select the items you want to add, then click Open > Add.
Note: To add original-quality photos, click Original at the bottom left of the photo selection screen.
To add items sent in a chat to an album on your main or sub device, see the steps below.
Note:
- You can add up to 20 photos or videos at a time.
- Only LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) members can add videos.
Main device
1. Tap and hold an item, then tap Album.2. Select the items you want to add, then tap Add.
3. Select or create an album to save the items in, then tap Add or Create.
Sub device
iPad/Android
1. Tap and hold an item, then tap Album.2. Select the items you want to add, then tap Add.
3. Select or create an album to save the items in, then tap Add or Create.
Windows/Mac
1. Right-click the item in a chat that you want to add to an album.2. Click Add to album.
3. Select or create an album to save the item in, then click Add or Create.
Note: You can't save photos in original quality when you select them by right-clicking them. To add original-quality photos to albums, see the To add items directly to an album section of this Help article.
Useful infoNote:
- There is a limit to the number of videos and photos that can be uploaded per user.
- You can upload photos up to 20 MB in size and 100 megapixels in resolution.
- While the original resolution is maintained, some photo metadata may be lost.
- Only unedited photos can be uploaded in original quality. Edited photos, videos, and GIFs cannot be uploaded in original quality.
- To check the resolution for photos and videos added to an album from your smartphone or tablet, select the relevant photo or video >
> Details.When you cancel your LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) membership, the items saved in your albums when you were subscribed will be handled as follows.
• Videos: Deleted from your albums 30 days after your LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) membership's expiration date.
• Original-quality photos: Converted to standard quality 30 days after the expiration date.
• Standard-quality photos: Will remain in your albums regardless of your LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) subscription status.
Note: If you re-subscribe within 30 days from the LYP Premium (Japan)/LINE Premium (Thailand) expiration date, the items will remain in your albums.
Saving albums or individual items from albums
To save entire albums of items on your main or sub device, see the steps below.Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Select the album you want to save, then tap
at the top right of the screen.3. Tap Download album.
Sub device
iPad/Android
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Select the album you want to save, then tap
at the top right of the screen.3. Tap Download album.
Windows/Mac
1. Click at the top of the chat > Albums.
2. Click the album you want to save.
3. Click Save all.
4. Select a folder to save the album to, then click Select Folder or Open.
To save individual items from albums on your main or sub device, see the steps below.
Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Select the album, then tap the item you want to save.
3. Tap

Deleting albums or individual items from albums

Be advised- The friend you're in a 1-on-1 chat with deleted their LINE account.
- Everyone in the group chat left the group or deleted their LINE accounts.
Sharing albums or individual items from albums
You can share an album again in the chat it was created in on your main or sub device. For the steps to do so, see below.Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of the album you want to share.3. Tap Share album > Share.
Sub device
iPad/Android
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the bottom right of the album you want to share.3. Tap Share album > Share.
Windows/Mac
1. Click at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Click
to the right of the name of the album you want to share.3. Click Share album > Share.
You can share items saved in albums with friends or groups on your main or sub device. For the steps to do so, see below.
Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Select the album, then tap
at the top right of the screen > Select items.3. Select the items you want to share, then tap

.4. Choose a friend or group and tap Share, or select one of the other sharing options.
You can also send a message with the items you selected, if you're sharing with a friend or group. After you've selected the friend/group you want to share with, just enter your message in the text box at the bottom of the screen, then tap Share.
Sub device
iPad/Android
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Select the album, then tap
at the top right of the screen > Select items.3. Select the items you want to share, then tap
/.4. Choose a friend or group and tap Share, or select one of the other sharing options.
You can also send a message with the items you selected, if you're sharing with a friend or group. After you've selected the friend/group you want to share with, just enter your message in the text box at the bottom of the screen, then tap Share.
Windows/Mac
1. Click at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Click an album.
3. Select the item you want to share, then click
at the top of the screen.4. Select who you want to send the item to, then click Share.
Useful info
- When you create an album or share it again, a message is sent to notify everyone in the relevant chat.
- If you don't want anyone in the chat to be able to see the message, you can remove it within the time limit after it was sent by selecting Unsend, regardless of whether it has been read or not.
- After you unsend a message, a notice will appear for everyone in the chat showing that you removed it.
Clearing the cache for albums
You can use this feature on devices aside from LINE for Windows or Mac sub devices.To delete the cache for albums, follow the steps below for your device.
Useful info- Any uncompleted uploads to add items or downloads will be canceled.
Main device
iPhone/iPad
1. Tap the Home tab >
> Albums.2. Tap Clear cache for all albums.
3. Tap Clear.
Android
1. Tap at the top of a chat > Settings.2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap Clear next to "Album cache."
Sub device
iPad
1. Tap Settings > Albums.2. Tap Clear cache for all albums.
3. Tap Clear.
Android
1. Tap at the top of a chat > Settings.2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap Clear next to "Album cache."
Checking Premium items
This feature is only available to LYP Premium (Japan) and LINE Premium (Thailand) members.You can see a list of the items that you uploaded using LYP Premium/LINE Premium benefits.
Note: If you're an LYP Premium/LINE Premium member but aren't using the relevant Premium benefits, no items will appear.
To check your Premium items, see the steps below for your device.
Main device
Tap the Home tab > > Albums > Your Premium items.Sub device
iPad
Tap Settings > Albums > Your Premium items.Android
Tap the Home tab > > Albums > Your Premium items.Using All albums to view all of your albums at once:
The All albums feature lets you check all of your albums from various chats.
The albums displayed in All albums include:
• Albums created in 1-on-1 chats with friends.
• Albums created in groups that you're a member of.
• Albums from hidden/deleted 1-on-1 and group chats.
Albums created in the following chats will not be displayed in All Albums:
• A chat with a friend who deleted their LINE account.
Note: You'll still be able to see albums in your chat with them.
• A group you're no longer a member of (because you left or were removed from it).
All albums shows up to 1,000 albums from chats where photos were uploaded.
To use the All albums feature on your main or sub device, see the steps below.
Main device
1. Tap at the top of the chat > Albums.2. Tap
at the top right of the screen.Regardless of the album, you can view all of your albums' photos by selecting the Photos tab. Choosing a photo and tapping See album at the top of the screen will take you to the album that includes the relevant photo.
Tapping
to the right of the Albums tab lets you reorder albums by Recently uploaded or Recently created.

- Adjusting the display size will change the number of rows and columns displayed.
- Any changes will be saved.

You can use this feature on LINE versions aside from LINE for Windows or Mac (sub device).
To hide a chat's albums:
1. At the top of a chat, tap
> Albums > at the top right of the screen.2. Tap an album from the chat with albums you want to hide >
at the top right of the screen > Hide from "All albums" > Hide.
To unhide a chat's albums on your main or sub device, see the steps below.
On your main device (typically your smartphone)
1. Tap the Home tab > > Albums > Hidden albums.2. Tap Unhide next to the chat with albums you want to unhide > Unhide.
On your sub device (typically your tablet)
iPad
1. Tap Settings > Albums > Hidden albums.2. Tap Unhide next to the chat with albums you want to unhide > Unhide.
Android
