You can delete, hide, or block people on LINE so that they will no longer appear in your friend list.

Differences between deleting, hiding, and blocking accounts:
You can remove LINE accounts from your friend list by deleting, hiding, or blocking them. The differences between these three features are as follows.

You're able to receive messages and calls from hidden accounts, but not from accounts that are blocked or deleted (by tapping Delete from your Blocked accounts list).

If you mistakenly hide or block an account, you can unhide or unblock it. However, deleting an account cannot be undone.

If you delete, hide, or block a friend on LINE, they will not be notified.

- Deleting, hiding, or blocking a friend on LINE doesn't delete your account from their friend list.

- Even if you delete an account by tapping Delete from your friend list or Hidden accounts list, you can restore it by adding the account as a friend again.



Blocking and unblocking accounts:
If you don't want to receive messages or calls from someone, you can block their account.

To block and unblock accounts, see the following steps.

Blocking accounts
Main device
1. Tap the Home tab > Friends.
2. Tap and hold the name of the account that you want to block.
3. Tap Block.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap the Home tab.
2. Under Friends, tap and hold the name of the account that you want to block.
3. Tap Block.

Android 1. Tap the Home tab > Friends.
2. Tap and hold the name of the account that you want to block.
3. Tap Block.

Windows/Mac/Chrome 1. From the main menu, click Friends.
2. Right-click the account you want to block.
3. Click Block > Block.

Unblocking accounts Note: It may take some time for the changes to be applied.
Main device
1. From the Home tab, tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Blocked accounts.
3. Tap the account you want to unblock or Edit.
4. Tap Unblock > Unblock.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Blocked accounts.
3. Select the account you want to unblock.
4. Tap Unblock > Unblock.

Android 1. From the Home tab, tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Blocked accounts.
3. Tap Edit next to the account you want to unblock.
4. Tap Unblock > Unblock.

Windows/Mac/Chrome 1. At the bottom of the main menu, click Settings > Settings.
2. Click Friends > the Blocked accounts tab.
3. Click Unblock next to the user you want to unblock.

To block or unblock someone who isn't your friend on LINE (e.g. someone in your friend recommendations), please click on their profile icon > Block or Unblock.


Hiding and unhiding accounts:
By hiding accounts, they will no longer appear in your friend list.

To hide and unhide accounts, see the following steps.

Hiding accounts
Main device 1. Tap the Home tab > Friends.
2. Tap and hold the name of the account that you want to hide.
3. Tap Hide/Hide from list > Hide.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap the Home tab.
2. Under Friends, tap and hold the name of the account that you want to hide.
3. Tap Hide > Hide.

Android 1. Tap the Home tab > Friends.
2. Tap and hold the name of the account that you want to hide.
3. Tap Hide from list > Hide.

Windows/Mac/Chrome 1. From the main menu, click Friends.
2. Right-click the account you want to hide.
3. Click Hide > Hide.

Unhiding accounts Note: It may take some time for the changes to be applied.
Main device 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Hidden accounts.
3. Tap Edit next to the account you want to unhide.
4. Tap Unhide.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Hidden accounts.
3. Tap Edit next to the account you want to unhide.
4. Tap Unhide.

Android 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings.
2. Tap Friends > Hidden accounts.
3. Tap Edit next to the account you want to unhide.
4. Tap Unhide.

Windows/Mac/Chrome 1. At the bottom of the main menu, click Settings > Settings.
2. Click Friends > the Hidden accounts tab.
3. Click Unhide next to the user you want to unhide.


Deleting accounts:
You can delete accounts from your friend list.

You can still receive messages from users deleted from the Hidden accounts list. If you do not want to receive messages or voice calls from someone, please block them before deleting them.
There are ways to delete accounts from your Hidden accounts list, Blocked accounts list, or friend list.

Deleting hidden or blocked accounts
Main device 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings.
2. Tap Friends.
3. Tap Hidden accounts or Blocked accounts.
4. Tap the account you want to delete or Edit.
5. Tap Delete or Delete > Delete.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends.
3. Tap Hidden accounts or Blocked accounts.
4. Tap the account you want to delete or Edit.
5. Tap Delete > Delete.

Android 1. From the Home tab, tap Settings.
2. Tap Friends.
3. Tap Hidden accounts or Blocked accounts.
4. Tap Edit next to the account you want to delete.
5. Tap Delete.

Windows/Mac/Chrome 1. At the bottom of the main menu, click Settings > Settings.
2. Click Friends > the Hidden accounts or Blocked accounts tab.
3. Click Delete next to the user you want to delete.
4. Read the warning message, then click Delete.

Deleting accounts from your friend list Note: You can use this feature on LINE versions aside from LINE for PC (sub device).
1. Tap the Home tab > Friends.
2. Tap and hold the account you want to delete.
3. Tap Delete > Delete.
