Setting a passcode lock on LINE

Turning on the Passcode lock setting in LINE will prompt you for a numerical passcode or biometric authentication every time you open the LINE app.

To set, change, or remove a passcode, see the following sections.

If you forget your LINE passcode, you will need to delete the LINE app and reinstall it. When you delete and reinstall the LINE app, all of your chat history that hasn't been backed up will be deleted, so be sure not to forget your passcode.
Setting a passcode lock 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Privacy.
2. Turn ON Passcode lock.
3. Enter the passcode you want to set twice.

If you don't want to use biometric authentication to unlock the LINE app, turn off Use Face ID to unlock/Use biometrics to unlock.
Note: If biometric authentication isn't set on your device beforehand, the menu to unlock with biometric authentication will not appear.

Changing your passcode lock 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Privacy.
2. On Android: Tap Change passcode and enter your current passcode.
    On iOS: Tap Change passcode.
3. Enter your new passcode twice.

Removing your passcode lock 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Privacy.
2. Turn OFF Passcode lock.

If you turned on Use Face ID to unlock/Use biometrics to unlock, but it was removed (i.e. turned off), try the following:
• Change your passcode
• Turn on Passcode lock again after turning it off
Note: It's OK to use the same passcode.
