Smartphone and tablet (iPad and Android)
iOS and iPadOS version 15 or later/Android OS version 8.0 or later:
You can continue using the LINE app by updating it to version 13.21.0 or later.
iOS and iPadOS versions up to 14.8.1/Android OS versions up to 7.1.2:
You won't be able to use the LINE app because you cannot update it to version 13.21.0 or later.
Note: To continue using the LINE app, update your device to iOS and iPadOS version 15.0 or later/Android OS version 8.0 or later, then update the LINE app.
Apple Watch
watchOS version 8.0 or later:
You can continue using LINE by updating the app on your paired iPhone to version 13.21.0 or later.
watchOS versions up to 7.6.2:
What you need to do depends on the iOS version of your paired iPhone. Please make the necessary updates based on your paired iPhone's iOS version.
Note: You will also need to update your watchOS to version 8.0 or later.

Support for LINE for Wear OS by Google (formerly Android Wear) versions up to 1.4.2 has ended as of July 22, 2025.
Please update the LINE app from the Google Play Store on your smartwatch.

As of June 10, 2025, support for macOS Monterey 12 has ended.
Although updates for the latest version of the LINE app are no longer supported on macOS Monterey 12, you can continue to use LINE versions 9.8.1 and earlier.
If you're using macOS Ventura 13 or later:
You can update the LINE app to version 9.9.0 or later.
If you're using macOS Monterey 12 to 12.7.6:
You can use LINE versions up to 9.8.1.

FAQs
If LINE closes suddenly (crashes) or doesn't start, try the following troubleshooting tips.
Update the LINE app:
Issues may occur on older versions of the app, so please update the LINE app to the latest version.
Note: To use LINE on a Mac with the Apple M1 chip, you need to install version 6.5 or later of the LINE app.
Restart your PC:
Some issues can be resolved by restarting your PC.
Update your OS:
Issues may occur on older OSes. To check if there is a newer OS version available, follow the steps below.
On Windows:Go to Settings > Update & Security.
On Mac: Go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: These steps and labels may differ depending on your OS version and device.
Disable your security software:
Temporarily disable any security software you have (e.g. antivirus, firewall) and check if you can use LINE.
Delete any unnecessary apps and data:
Your PC and the LINE app may not work as intended if your PC doesn't have enough storage space. Try using LINE again after deleting unnecessary data and freeing up some space.

General solutions for issues with LINE If you're having issues with LINE, first see if there are issues with the version of LINE you are using by checking the following Help content.
If there is nothing wrong with the version of LINE you're using, please try the following troubleshooting tips for the platform you use LINE on.
Windows/Mac
• Uninstall LINE for Windows/Mac and then reinstall it.• Restart your Windows PC or Mac.
• Temporarily disable any firewalls or security software you have in place, or allow LINE to connect to the internet.
• Disable any resident or customization software, such as WindowBlinds.
Chrome
• Uninstall LINE for Chrome and then reinstall it.• Update the Chrome browser.
Note: If you're using Chrome OS, try updating the OS as well.
• Stop all applications running in the background and disable browser extensions.
• Delete your cache and browsing history.

You need to download the LINE for PC app or LINE for Chrome, and log in to your LINE account. If you're using a PC that's shared with multiple people, we recommend logging out of LINE after your session.

Downloading LINE for PC:
Download LINE for Windows or Mac from LINE's official website based on your PC's OS.
If you want to use LINE on a web browser, you can download LINE for Chrome if you have the Google Chrome browser.

Logging in to LINE for PC:
There are three ways to log in to LINE for PC: by using a QR code, biometric information, or your registered email address and password.
Logging in with a QR code
Scanning the QR code that appears on LINE for PC with your smartphone logs you in to LINE.To log in with a QR code:
1. Start LINE for PC.
2. Open the QR code reader in LINE on your smartphone.
3. Scan the QR code that appears on LINE for PC.
4. Click Log in on your smartphone.

Logging in with biometric information (e.g. face, fingerprint)
You can log in with the biometric information (e.g. face, fingerprint) registered to your smartphone when you use LINE for PC.By logging in with your biometric information, you can manage your LINE account more securely than with using an email address and password.
Note: Your biometric information isn't saved on the LINE app or servers.

How logins with biometric information work
Logging in with your email address and password
Entering your registered email address and password logs you in to LINE.To log in with your registered email address and password:
1. Start LINE for PC.
2. Enter your registered email address and password, then click Log in.
Note:
- If you forgot your email address, see Checking your registered email address.
- If you forgot your password, please change it as there is no way to check it.
- If you haven't registered an email address, please register one.
- All of the above procedures need to be done on the smartphone version of LINE.


• Check the Run LINE when Windows starts option at the login screen.
• After logging in to LINE, click

1. Start the smartphone version of LINE.
2. Enter the verification code that appears on LINE for PC.
3. Confirm that the device you are trying to log in with is correct, and check the box.
4. Tap Verify.
Note:
- Be sure to enter the verification code that's displayed within three minutes.
- If the screen to enter the verification code doesn't appear on LINE on your smartphone, restart LINE and try logging in to LINE on your PC again.
Logging out of LINE for PC:
1. At the bottom of the main menu, click
